Executive Rookie Spotlight: Samantha Linson-Vawdrey

By: Samantha Linson-Vawdrey

We recently had a chat with Samantha Linson-Vawdrey, who has gone from studying a Bachelors Degree in Advertising to working as a Junior Project Manager in our Digital Marketing team.

Tell us more about yourself

I was born and raised in the great Mid-West state of Michigan. I have been working in communications for almost six years now, and I’m still in love with it. I’m super passionate about everything I do; regardless of whether it comes to work, dance, or dogs.

What did you study?

I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Advertising, with a focus on management and a specialisation in public relations from Michigan State University. It took a few course changes to figure out what my passion was, but eventually, I found that I belong in the world of communications.

What did you do before working at Eventerprise?

Everything from working in communications and PR for NPOs and private schools, to corporate crisis communications, and sales. I initially came to South Africa through a study abroad internship, where I met my husband, and kind of never really left.

What is your focus area at Eventerprise?

At Eventerprise, I am a Junior Project Manager in the Digital Marketing team, and I am also heading up our sales division as Eventerprise continues to grow in the USA. My focus area is communications, which entails PR, social media, sales, and interactions with my colleagues and our clients. I also help lead the process behind our sales team project focused on the US market.

What have you learned so far?

I have learned how to be a project manager, and how to ensure that all our systems are not only working in conjunction with each other but are simultaneously being optimised along each step of the process. I have also had to learn how to master managing an international schedule.

What are your plans going forward?

To expand Eventerprise in the USA, and in doing so, build my skill set. I would also like to train people who are passionate about developing in our sales department and can grow to become regional sales managers.
