Thanks for visiting Hope Fitzgerald Photography & Video. I’ve worked as a photographer in Faversham since 2001, initially providing portraiture to other young families when my own children were very young. My first advert for Photographic Services was in the autumn edition of my local NCT magazine!
Changes from film to digital photography coincided with MA Fine Art study, completed with distinction in 2009. Making use of the facilities at UCA Canterbury, I began working with video alongside my studies, and my first completed one-minute film, 30 Books, was selected for the Whit stable Biennale 2008. I was hooked on improving my work with moving image.
After three years of combining freelance and part time work with Moving Image Degree students, and completing PGCE study, I moved exclusively to freelance work in Photography and Video.
Being independent allows for a perfect mix of people, still and moving imagery, editing, and education work, calling on the varied skill base developed since my first roll of film in my first camera at 17 years old. Working with the talented people in my community is a joy, and making images of people in important moments continues to capture my attention, whether for private clients or organizations.
