A home away from home, the Lord Grey Guesthouse provides all of its patrons with comfort, peace and 3-star service. Step inside and feel as if you have been swept away to the innermost heart of the countryside. Admire the history decorating the walls, the stories of how we began and the old time hint of country life. Set in the heart of Greytown, come and relax in the tranquil garden as butterflies and birds flutter around, and the ambient sounds of the country charm you.
The B&B is the passion of our employees and we strive to make your stay not only comfortable, but memorable. Greytown is the jewel of the Natal Midlands as well as the business and administrative hub of the Umovti county. It is also rich in colonial history, having been both a garrison and a supply depot for the military in the Eighteenth Century. Greytown was established in 1954 by Sir George Grey who was governor of the Cape Colony from 1854 to 1861.
It is this founder of our country town, for which our 3-star guest house was named. Surrounding the house are many activities including the Midlands Meander, quaint coffee shops and restaurants as well as bird walks and historical buildings and trails. Weenen Game Reserve is within easy reach, as well as other attractions such as Lilani Hot Springs and the St. Cathryn's Golf Course. And if it is pampering you are after, why not make use of some of our wonderful local spas and massage therapists. All of our rooms are comfortable, cosy and certainly homely.
We cater for families, single occupants as well as two people sharing. We offer you seven en-suite bedrooms, each equipped with television and a telephone. Settle down and relax in our communal lounge, or have a bite to eat in our dining area. If it is a quiet little spot to work or rest, then nestle into one of our little nooks and enjoy the quiet and privacy. Every morning an English breakfast is served at your convenience.
