A world of digital opportunity

EventerCamp Investor is for investors and venture capitalists who would like to gain a deeper understanding of event tech, SaaS, digital platforms, and global startup best practices.

Roelof Botha, ex-CFO of Paypal and venture capitalist at Sequoia Capital has stated categorically:

“I think it’s very hard to be in venture capital if you haven’t walked in the shoes of a founder or entrepreneur, or been involved in building a company.”

That’s why Eventerprise has decided to offer an open invitation to international private investors and members of VC firms or family offices who would like to gain a deeper understanding of the day-to-day running of an early-stage SaaS startup. And where better to do that than at one of our global hubs – Cape Town, South Africa, voted the world’s best city in 2016.

Eventerprise offers participants exposure to the inner workings of a global startup so that they may develop a better practical understanding of how the platform revolution is transforming industries such as the event industry, and in the process changing the way the world does business.

Since more than half the companies on the Fortune 500 have disappeared since the year 2000 due to digital disruption, it has become increasingly important for investors and investment professionals to understand the new platform business models. The hands-on experience that an early stage startup offers can provide invaluable insights into future investment decisions.

How does it work?

The founders, Charlie Wright and Götz Thümecke, and their senior management team will be at your disposal for the duration, making sure that you get exposure to each section of the business. You will be introduced to the strategic thinking behind the practical execution as well as the agile methodologies that underpin everything we do.

In addition, we will help you balance your stay with more hedonistic pursuits such as sampling the epicurean delights of Cape Town’s world renowned restaurants and award-winning wine estates. Those of a more adventurous bent can enjoy some of the best hiking, horse riding, surfing, kite-surfing, and other adventure sport locations in the world. International golf stars like Gary Player and Ernie Els have ensured that there are plenty of excellent golf courses for the visiting golfer to choose from.

Cape Town also offers many places of cultural and historical significance – visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years, and other sites and monuments that celebrate the rich tapestry that makes up South Africa’s culture. If your calendar permits it, there is of course the option to visit some of South Africa’s iconic game reserves, such as the Kruger National Park, and see if you can spot the Big Five.
